Posted by admin - January 13, 2011 - News

Grand Home Automation and the Elf Foundation provided an AV system for the children at the new Helen Devos Childrens Hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan.

I was excited to provide the GUI for a Crestron TPS-6L using the new Streamline graphics kit. Mark Delzer took my vtp file and used simpl to make magic that will put smiles on the faces of children for many years to come.

Site Update

Posted by admin - April 15, 2010 - News

I recently moved the blog to its own page and created a new home page. My hopes are that i can better direct traffic this way as the site continues to grow. Moving the blog around sounds easy enough right? :) It took me the better part of a day to accomplish it. I had to move wordpress to its own directory and then manually edit the navigation menu to make it mimic the html portion of the site. I could use wordpress for the entire site but im more comfortable with editing html pages. I lost my plugins and could not remember which ones i had :) so i spent some time trying every gallery plugin until i stumbled upon the one i was using. I forgot to record my side bar links but luckily google cached version of guijaboard helped me out.

I penciled in some temporary stuff for the home page until i have time & energy to complete it. I have the blog pretty much squared away with the exception of graphic link buttons for all the other GUI pros. The text in the side bar is hard to read so a nice big graphic will help draw more attention. Im happy with the rest of the site with the exception of how the store operates. It was fine at first but now that im starting to add multiple control system versions of the templates and soon a second template etc.. things are going to start getting hairy. I saw this coming but i didn’t have a solution or time to come up with one then. I want to have rows with 3 columns/items in each.. thumbnail with buy it now and gallery button under it. If i move to a “lightbox” style gallery i think this will work well.
